Jenni Large

Jenni is a contemporary dance artist collaborating on unceded stolen lands of so-called Australia. Across her practice, Jenni locates the body as a site for transformation, play and connection, driven by the personal and political potency of embodiment.

Jenni has performed extensively across independent and company environments in regional, national and international settings. Notably, as a formative ensemble member and rehearsal director at Dancenorth (2015–2020) performing and touring a plethora of works by renowned choreographers.

Jenni currently dances with Tasdance and rehearsal directs for ADC whilst continuing to develop her choreographic practice. Recently premiering her works ‘All Expenses Paid' co-choreographed with Jack Ziesing for Stompin/Mona Foma and ‘Trio for Harp, Harpist & Dancer’ with Emily Sanzaro for Tasdance/Ten Days on the Island. Jenni’s choreographic inquiry is currently focused on the subject/object dynamic in relation to the female body.

The Unconformity acknowledges the palawa people as the original and traditional custodians of lutruwita / Tasmania. We commit to working respectfully to honour their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to this land.
