Preferring not to put a name to her style, Lucy Watts is a global crate digger and collector of music. Originally hailing from Launceston, Watts cut her teeth on late-night graveyard shifts on Sydney’s FBi radio and Melbourne’s 3RRR, which gave her selector status and saw her swimming in the pool of Melbourne’s late night venues, becoming a regular at bars such as Dr Morse and Joe's Shoe Store.
Watts DJs with the belief that record collectors are purveyors of a secret history, each B-side with an undiscovered narrative. Just as likely to reach for a classic disco banger as she is an esoteric ambient soundscape, Watts’ energy and thirst for new and far-reaching sounds is infectious.
