An Unsteady Compass

How do we navigate the mythologies that have been written over the top of landscape?

Sited in Queenstown, An Unsteady Compass questions the frontier legends who have shaped its culture. To chart this path, Lou Conboy has deployed her alter-ego Sisyphina, a figure whose actions are never ending but futile, to critique the myths and the impositions on the landscape.

The Unconformity acknowledges the palawa people as the original and traditional custodians of lutruwita / Tasmania. We commit to working respectfully to honour their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to this land.
