Chris T Wilson

Chris has been living working and painting on Tasmania's West Coast for about 35 years. Most of that time, her artwork has portrayed the Western landscape using the wonderful medium of soft pastels. A more recent move to be based in Queenstown has led to a change in her art, moving from rainforest, river and seascapes to raw geological landscapes inspired by the immediate environment in and around Queenstown. Two years ago, Chris abandoned the use of pastels and now exclusively uses natural earth materials to create these geological landscapes. There is a beautiful truth to using pieces of the rocks and clays to create images of the environment from which they are sourced .

The Unconformity acknowledges the palawa people as the original and traditional custodians of lutruwita / Tasmania. We commit to working respectfully to honour their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to this land.
