Local is a community-based, cultural podcast produced on the Tasmanian West Coast. The podcast records long-form conversations with local and visiting artists exploring the nature of art-making in a provocative wilderness and industrial setting. The second season of Local will launch during The Unconformity 2021 festival, and expand to include voices and stories from the local community that investigate the social and historical context of Western lutruwita/Tasmania. What does home look and feel like in an ever-changing space wrought with misconceptions?

The second season of Local will be marked by two unique, stand-alone poetry readings with Kim Nielsen-Creeley ahead of her soon-to-be-published collection, a sound performance that recontextualizes meaning within narrative by Timothy Hodge and the release of an industrial soundscape produced by Carter Pierce.

Both Kim Nielsen-Creeley and Timothy Hodge are featured in Local's second season.

The Unconformity acknowledges the palawa people as the original and traditional custodians of lutruwita / Tasmania. We commit to working respectfully to honour their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to this land.
